About
Blockyard gives you one small floating isle and a box of blocks. There is no map to explore and nothing to survive: just a little world that fits on your screen, waiting for you to put something on it. A cottage with a terracotta roof. A walled garden. A lighthouse on the shore of a pond that was already there when you arrived. Tap a block face to set a block against it, hold to take one away, drag to spin the isle and pinch to lean in close. The kit is a model village set rather than a survival pack: meadow, soil, stone, cobble and sand for the ground, then timber, beams, plaster, brick, slate and terracotta tiles for what you build, with glass for windows, water for ponds, hedges for the garden, lanterns for after dark and six painted blocks for the parts that should catch the eye. Then comes the point of the place. The sun is a real light casting real shadows, not an effect painted over the top, so you can slide it around the sky and across the day, choose from eight skies between clear morning and a lantern lit night, and export a photograph of what you made. Every block texture is drawn by the app itself in code, which is why the whole thing weighs less than a megabyte. Nothing leaves your iPhone: no account, no sign in, no analytics and no network request of any kind.
