Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Foreblock, developed and published by OFO Labs, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The App

Foreblock is a single player puzzle game. You drag pieces onto an eight by eight board to fill and clear rows and columns. What separates it from the rest of its genre is that the queue is visible and the game reasons about it: nine pieces are on screen in the order they will arrive, and while you hold a piece the board marks the cells where dropping it keeps the whole queue placeable. It runs entirely on your device.

What We Promise About the Numbers

This belongs in the terms rather than only in the marketing, because it is the whole product.

Every puzzle board ships with a number printed on it, and that number is the fewest drops that can empty the board. It is not an estimate and not a designer's guess. Each board is put through an exhaustive search before it is included, which establishes both that the number is achievable and that no shorter answer exists, and the same proof is re-run by the app's own test suite against the file that actually ships. If we ever find a board whose number is wrong, we will correct it in an update and say so in the release notes.

The foresight overlay makes the same kind of promise. A cell marked in cyan is one where dropping the piece leaves every remaining visible piece placeable, and that is established by an exact search rather than by a heuristic. Where the search cannot finish inside its budget, the app draws the cell neutral and the counter goes away, rather than claiming something it did not prove.

Purchases

Foreblock is bought once. There is no in-app purchase, no subscription, no currency, no advertising and nothing to unlock: every board, every mode and every feature is present from the first launch. The App Store purchase itself is handled by Apple under Apple's terms. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Acceptable Use

Foreblock is for personal entertainment. You may not decompile, reverse engineer or attempt to extract the board data or the solver, redistribute the app or any part of it, or use it in any way that breaks the law where you are.

Game Center

The leaderboard is optional. If you use it, Apple's Game Center terms apply to your participation. We may remove obviously fraudulent scores from the leaderboard; we cannot and do not remove anything from your device.

Intellectual Property

Foreblock, its name, its icon, its artwork, its sounds, its board generator and its solver are the property of OFO Labs. All of the content in the app is created by us: the tiles are drawn in code, the boards are produced by our own generator, the sounds are synthesized by our own script, and the icon is rendered by our own script. No third party content is included.

No Warranty

Foreblock is provided as is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, OFO Labs is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app.

Changes to the App and to These Terms

We may update the app, add boards, or change these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms. We will not remove content you already have, and we will not add advertising or a purchase to a game that was sold as complete.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict of law rules.
