Summary

Glareless does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal data. Every photograph you scan is processed on your device and stays on your device. The app makes no network requests of its own, and nothing you scan is ever uploaded anywhere.

2. Data Collection

We do not collect any data.

Specifically, Glareless does NOT:

  • Collect personal information (name, email, phone number, address)
  • Collect usage data or analytics
  • Track your location
  • Use cookies or similar tracking technologies
  • Require a user account or registration
  • Make network requests of its own
  • Send your photographs, or anything read from them, to any server
  • Use cloud processing, remote models, or "AI credits" of any kind
  • Use advertising identifiers
  • Show advertising of any kind
  • Use any third-party SDK, analytics tool, or tracking framework

3. Your photographs

Everything the app does to a photograph happens on your iPhone: the multi-pass glare fusion, the detection and cutting out of each print, the perspective correction, the colour restoration and the reading of the date on the back of a print.

The scans you keep are written to the app's own storage on your device, inside a folder for each album you create. They are removed when you delete that album inside the app, or when you delete the app.

4. The camera

Glareless asks for camera access the first time you scan. The camera is used only to take the frames of the page you are scanning. No frame is stored anywhere except as a scan you chose to keep, and nothing is streamed off the device.

5. Your photo library

Glareless asks for add-only access to your photo library, and only when you export a scan. Add-only means the app can place a photograph into your library and cannot read, browse or search what is already there. When a scan carries a date read from the back of a print, that date is written as the photograph's creation date so it files itself correctly.

6. Text read from the back of a print

When you scan the back of a print to recover its date, the text is recognised on your device using Apple's on-device Vision framework. The recognised text is shown to you for confirmation and is not sent anywhere. If you do not confirm a reading, nothing is saved.

7. Data Storage

Your settings, such as haptics, sound and the default colour-correction strength, are stored locally in Apple's UserDefaults. Your albums and scans are stored in the app's own container on the device. None of it is synchronised, backed up to us, or readable by us.

8. Purchases

Glareless is free to download and offers one optional in-app purchase, Glareless Pro, which is a single payment that never renews. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details, and we receive no personal information about you from Apple.

9. Children

Glareless is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. Because it collects no data at all, it collects no data from anyone of any age.

10. Your Rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export or delete. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device.

11. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at https://ofolabs.net/glareless/privacypolicy with a new effective date.
