The short version

Lemma collects nothing. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no network code of any kind. There is no server to send anything to, because there is no server.

What is stored on your device

• Whether you have completed the one-time introduction.
• The settings you have chosen inside the app.
• The list of Latin words you have looked up, which the app shows you so that revision is what you actually struggled with. You can clear it at any time from inside the app.
• Whether you have bought Lemma Pro, which Lemma asks Apple about rather than storing itself.

All of this lives in the app's own storage on your iPhone. It is included in your encrypted device backup if you use one, and deleting the app deletes it.

What is not collected

Lemma does not collect your name, your email address, your location, your contacts, your device identifiers or how you use the app. It contains no analytics framework, no advertising framework and no tracking of any kind. It does not show you advertisements and it never asks you to create an account.

Network

Lemma makes no network requests. The entire dictionary and every bundled text ship inside the app, so it works with the phone in aeroplane mode, on a school network that blocks everything, and underground.

The only exception is Apple's own purchase machinery, which runs outside the app.

Purchases

The one-time Lemma Pro purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple tells the app whether the purchase is active, and nothing else. Lemma never sees your payment details, your Apple Account or any identifier tied to you. Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction.

Children

Lemma is a study reference and is suitable for all ages. Because it collects nothing at all, it collects nothing from children either.

Your rights

There is no data to request, correct, export or delete, because none was ever collected. Deleting the app removes everything Lemma has ever stored.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date at the top.
