The short version
Longrun collects nothing. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no network code of any kind. Everything you type into it stays on your iPhone, and nobody, including OFO Labs, can see it.
This matters more here than in most apps. You are typing in what you have saved and what you plan to live on, and those figures never leave your device.
What is stored on your device
- Your plans: the portfolio value, the yearly spending, the length of the retirement, the stock and bond mix, the costs, the withdrawal strategy, and any pension or other income you have added.
- Whether you have completed the introduction.
- Whether you have bought Longrun Pro, which Longrun asks Apple about rather than storing itself.
This is kept in the app's own storage on your iPhone. It is included in your encrypted device backup if you use one, and deleting the app deletes it.
What is not collected
Longrun does not collect your name, your email address, your location, your contacts, your device identifiers or your usage. It contains no analytics framework, no advertising framework and no tracking of any kind. It does not show you advertisements and it never asks you to create an account.
It is not connected to any bank, broker, pension provider or financial service. It cannot see any of your accounts, because it never asks for them: every figure in the app is one you typed in yourself.
Network
Longrun contains no networking code. The entire market data set, more than a century and a half of monthly returns, is inside the app, so every feature works with your iPhone in airplane mode.
The single exception is the purchase itself, which is handled entirely by Apple: when you buy or restore Longrun Pro, your iPhone talks to the App Store, not to us. We never see your payment details, and Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction.
Exporting
Longrun Pro can write your results to a CSV file and hand it to the iOS share sheet. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose a destination yourself, and where it goes after that is governed by whichever app you send it to.
Children
Longrun is rated 4+. It collects nothing from anyone, regardless of age.
Your rights
Because nothing leaves your device, there is nothing for us to give you, correct or delete. To remove everything Longrun has stored, delete the app.
Data source
The market series bundled with Longrun is Robert J. Shiller's monthly United States series, published by Yale University for free use. It is historical market data and contains no personal information about anybody.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published here with a new date.
