The short version

Nightglass collects nothing. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no network code of any kind. Nothing you do in the app leaves your device.

Location

Nightglass asks for your location because the entire app is derived from it. Which objects clear your horizon, how high they climb, how long they stay up and when it actually gets dark all depend on where you are standing.

Your location is used on the device, in memory, to compute those numbers. It is never written to disk, never transmitted, and never seen by us or by anyone else.

If you decline the permission the app still works. You can enter observing sites by hand with their coordinates, and until you do it falls back to a default location.

What is stored on your device

• Observing sites you save yourself, with the names and coordinates you type in
• Which objects you have marked as seen
• Whether you have purchased Nightglass Pro

All of this lives in your own device's storage. It is not synced to us, not backed up to us, and not readable by us.

Data we collect

None.

There is no analytics framework, no crash reporting service, no advertising identifier and no third party code of any kind in this app. We have no servers involved in running it, so there is nowhere for your data to go even if we wanted it.

Purchases

Nightglass Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple's App Store. We never see your payment details. The app only ever asks Apple whether this Apple Account owns the product.

Children

Nightglass is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new date at the top.
