Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party:

  • Favorites: Quotes you have marked as favorites
  • Theme Preferences: Your selected visual theme
  • Pinned Quote: The quote you have pinned for display
  • Widget Data: Data necessary to display quotes on your home screen widget

This local data is stored using your device's standard storage mechanisms and can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing the App's data in your device settings.

Third-Party Services

Quotable API

The App fetches inspirational quotes from the Quotable API (quotable.io), a free, open-source quotations API. When fetching quotes:

  • Only standard HTTP requests are made
  • No personal data is sent to this service
  • No cookies or tracking mechanisms are used
  • The API provider may log standard server access information (IP addresses) as per their own privacy practices

Share Functionality

When you choose to share a quote, the App uses your device's native share functionality. The shared content goes directly to the app or service you select (e.g., Messages, Email, Social Media). QuietQuote does not track or store information about your sharing activity.

Children's Privacy

QuietQuote does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 16 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Since we do not collect personal information from any users, the App is safe for use by individuals of all ages.

Data Security

Since no personal data is collected or transmitted, there is no personal data at risk. All App data is stored locally on your device and is protected by your device's security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, etc.).
