Privacy Policy for ReplyKey

OFO Labs ("we," "us," or "our") built ReplyKey to help you write replies faster. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what happens to your text. ReplyKey needs to send text to an AI model to generate a reply, so unlike a fully offline app there is something to explain here. We have tried to be precise rather than reassuring.

1. What We Send Off Your Device

When you ask ReplyKey to generate, improve, translate, or rewrite something, we send the following to our server, which forwards it to OpenAI:

  • The text you asked us to work on. That is the message you pasted or shared, and your draft or notes if you provided them.
  • Your generation settings. The target language, the tone, and the length preference.
  • A random device identifier. A UUID generated on your device the first time you use the app.

That is the complete list. Nothing else leaves your device.

2. What We Never Send

  • We never send everything you type. The keyboard only transmits text when you explicitly tap a generate action.
  • We never send your contacts, photos, location, calendar, or any other personal data.
  • We never send your name, email address, or any account identifier, because ReplyKey has no accounts.
  • We never send the contents of other apps.

3. About the Device Identifier

The random UUID exists for one reason: to count how many generations you have used today, so the free tier and the Pro allowance can be enforced. It is not linked to you, your Apple Account, or any advertising identifier. It is not used for analytics, profiling, or tracking, and it is never shared with anyone. Deleting the app deletes it.

4. Retention

  • Our server stores only a counter: your device identifier and the number of generations for the current day. That record expires automatically after 24 hours. We do not log, store, or have any way to read the text you send.
  • OpenAI, our model provider, processes your text to produce the reply. Under OpenAI's API data usage policy, API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models, and are retained for a limited period for abuse monitoring before deletion. Their policy governs that processing.

5. What Stays On Your Device

Your generation history, your language and tone preferences, and your writing style notes are stored locally on your device only. They are never uploaded. Clearing your history in Settings deletes them permanently.

6. The Keyboard and Full Access

The ReplyKey keyboard requires "Allow Full Access" in iOS Settings. iOS shows a strongly worded warning for this permission because a keyboard with Full Access is technically capable of transmitting anything you type.

ReplyKey requires it for exactly one reason: a keyboard extension without Full Access has no network connection at all, and generating a reply requires reaching our server. ReplyKey transmits text only when you tap a generate action. Ordinary typing on the ReplyKey keyboard never leaves your device.

7. No Tracking, No Analytics, No Ads

ReplyKey contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash reporting service, and no third-party tracking of any kind. We do not know how many times you open the app, what you write, or what replies you receive.

8. Purchases

ReplyKey Pro is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple. Apple processes the payment and shares no payment details with us. To confirm your subscription, the app sends Apple's cryptographically signed transaction receipt to our server, which verifies its signature against Apple's certificate. That receipt identifies the subscription, not you.

9. Children

ReplyKey is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

10. Your Rights

Because we hold no personal data beyond a 24 hour usage counter tied to a random identifier, there is no account to close and no personal data to export or erase. Deleting the app removes the identifier, your history, and your settings.

11. Changes

We will update this policy if ReplyKey's data handling changes, and revise the date above.
