The short version
Subcool collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and the app contains no networking code at all beyond Apple's own App Store purchase handling. Everything you enter stays on your iPhone.
What Subcool stores, and where
Everything Subcool stores lives on your device, in the app's own storage:
- Customers, equipment and the readings you save against them
- Photographs you attach to a visit
- Your technician name, company name, unit system and site altitude
None of this is transmitted anywhere. There is no server behind Subcool, no cloud sync and no backup service. If you delete the app, that data goes with it, which is why the export exists.
What leaves your device
Two things, both started by you, and neither passing through OFO Labs:
A purchase. If you buy Subcool Pro, Apple processes it. We never see your payment details, your Apple Account, or anything identifying you. Apple tells the app only whether the purchase exists.
An export you share. When you export a PDF service report or a CSV, the file is written on your device and handed to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there is entirely your choice, and it does not touch us.
Permissions
Photo library, only when you choose to attach a photograph to a visit. Subcool reads the single image you pick and nothing else.
Camera, only when you choose to photograph a nameplate or a gauge set.
Both are optional. Subcool works fully without either.
Your customers' details
If you record a customer's name, address or telephone number, you are the controller of that information and Subcool is simply the notebook you wrote it in. It stays on your iPhone. We never receive it, cannot read it, and have no way to disclose it to anyone.
Children
Subcool is a professional tool, rated 4+ because it contains nothing objectionable. It is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Your rights
Because nothing is collected, there is nothing for OFO Labs to disclose, correct or delete. The data on your device is yours: Settings has a control that permanently deletes every job record, and deleting the app removes everything.
Under the GDPR and comparable laws, the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection apply to personal data held by a controller. OFO Labs holds none, so there is no request for us to answer. Portability is served by the PDF and CSV export.
Accuracy and intended use
Subcool interpolates from refrigerant manufacturers' published pressure-temperature charts and computes from published engineering equations. It records and calculates. It does not certify that equipment is correctly charged, safe, efficient or compliant, and it is not a substitute for the manufacturer's own data or the judgement of a qualified technician.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it. Since there is nothing to collect, any change will be a clarification rather than a new use of data.
