Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using Gridworks. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Gridworks, developed and published by OFO Labs, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The App

Gridworks is a city building simulation. You zone a town on a fixed grid and three utility networks are solved and drawn for you: traffic on each road segment, electrical supply for each block, and water pressure at each block. It runs entirely on your device.

What We Promise About the Simulation

We put this in the terms rather than only in the marketing, because it is the whole product.

The three overlays show the actual state of the simulation, not a decorative approximation of it. The colour a road segment is painted comes from the volume of trips assigned to it against its capacity, by the same routing that decides how long a commute takes. The colour a block is painted in the power view comes from whether the supply solver could serve it, by the same pass that decides whether it may grow. The colour in the water view comes from the pressure delivered to that block, by the same propagation that decides whether it keeps its residents. Nothing shown on an overlay is generated separately from the rule it illustrates.

Every scenario's population target and its par month count were produced by running an automated reference planner over the shipping engine. A scenario the planner could not finish was not shipped. Par is therefore a measurement of a machine playing this exact code, not a designer's guess.

What This Is Not

Gridworks is a game. It is not urban planning software, traffic engineering software, electrical distribution software or hydraulic modelling software, and it must not be used for any real planning, design or engineering purpose. Its models are deliberately simplified for play. The terrain, the towns and every board in the app are fictional and depict no real place.

Purchases

Gridworks is bought once from the App Store and contains no in-app purchases. All twenty four scenarios, the Daily Grid, the sandbox and every tool are included from first launch. Purchases, refunds and family sharing are handled by Apple under Apple's terms.

Your Content

There is no account, no upload, no sharing service and no user-generated content in Gridworks. The cities you build stay on your device.

Game Center

Game Center is optional. Using it means also accepting Apple's terms for that service. The game is complete without it.

Intellectual Property

Gridworks, its code, its artwork, its generated content and its name belong to OFO Labs. You may not copy, decompile, redistribute or resell the app or any part of it.

The app is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, OFO Labs is not liable for any damages arising from the use of the app.

Changes

We may update these terms. The current version always appears on this page with its date.
