About
Every anatomy app will show you where a muscle is. None of them will tell you what stops working when a nerve is cut, because that is not a picture, it is a traversal: from the nerve, down its branches, to every muscle they reach, and on to every movement those muscles produce. Innervate is built as that graph. Open the radial nerve and read the whole cost of a lesion at the spiral groove, including the posterior interosseous branch, which is why the answer is thirteen muscles rather than four and why wrist drop is in it. Open any muscle and get its origin, insertion, action, nerve and root levels, with the nerve as a link, because the question after what supplies biceps is always what happens if it is cut. Ask which muscles flex the elbow and four answer across three different nerves, which is precisely why one lesion spares the movement and another does not. Pick a spinal root and see everything it reaches, which is the question a myotome exam actually asks. Slice across a limb and see the compartments, each coloured by the nerve that supplies it, because a compartment is simply a set of muscles sharing a nerve and a cross section is therefore a map of innervation. The movements a lesion costs are derived from the muscles rather than typed in, so the two can never disagree, and the compartment rules are enforced by the app's own tests: if a single posterior forearm muscle carried the wrong nerve, the build would fail. There is no account, no server, no advertising and no tracking, and the app works with no connection at all.
Features
- Open a nerve and see exactly which movements a lesion takes away
- Lesions follow the branches, so a radial cut includes the wrist drop
- 115 muscles with origin, insertion, action, nerve and roots
- 33 nerves, with where each one is most often injured
- Search by movement at a joint, or by single spinal root
- Limb cross sections with every compartment coloured by its nerve
- Compartment rules stated where they hold and where they do not
- Works entirely offline, with no account and no adverts
