A reading journal is a private thing. Nightjar is built so that yours never leaves your iPhone.
The Short Version
Nightjar collects nothing, tracks nothing and uploads nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party code of any kind.
What the App Stores, and Where
- Your preferences (reversals on or off, haptics, deck finish, whether onboarding is complete) are stored in the app's local settings on your device.
- Your saved readings, including the questions you asked, the cards that came up, your notes at the time and anything you write later about what actually happened, are stored in a local database on your device. They are included in your normal iPhone backup like any other app data, and they are deleted when you delete the app. You can also delete all of them at any time from Settings inside the app.
Nothing above is transmitted to us or to anyone else. Nightjar contains no networking code beyond the App Store purchase itself, and works fully in airplane mode.
Purchases
Nightjar offers one optional one-time purchase, Nightjar Pro. The transaction is handled entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We do not receive your name, address or payment details. Purchases can be restored on any device signed into the same Apple Account.
Data We Collect
None. We operate no servers for this app, so there is nothing for us to collect, read, sell or lose. Nobody at OFO Labs can see what you drew or what you wrote about it.
Your Rights
Because no personal data reaches us, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or erase under the GDPR, the CCPA or similar laws. Your readings are on your device and under your control.
Children
Nightjar does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at ofolabs.net/nightjar/privacypolicy before the change takes effect.
