Privacy Policy for Onscript

Onscript is a teleprompter that records video on your iPhone. The short version of this policy: nothing leaves your device.

What Onscript Collects

Nothing. Onscript has no account, no sign in, no analytics, no advertising identifier, no tracking and no server of its own. We cannot see your scripts, your recordings or how you use the app.

What Stays On Your Device

  • Your scripts. The text you type, paste or import is stored in the app's own container on your iPhone.
  • Your takes. Every video you record is written as a file in the app's container. It is never uploaded. You can delete a take, reclaim every take of a script, or delete the script and its folder, from inside the app.
  • Your finished videos. A cut you export is written to a temporary file and then handed to you: you choose whether it goes to Photos, to Files or to another app.
  • Your settings. Pace, text size, band position, mirror, camera and countdown are stored in the app's own preferences on the device.

Deleting Onscript deletes all of it.

Camera and Microphone

Onscript asks for the camera and the microphone so it can record you reading your script. The video and audio are written straight to a file on your device. They are not streamed, uploaded or analysed anywhere else.

Speech Recognition

Voice follow, which scrolls the script at the pace you are speaking, uses Apple's speech recognition on the device. Onscript requests on-device recognition explicitly. Where a device or a language cannot recognise speech without a network connection, Onscript does not offer voice follow at all rather than sending your audio to a server. Voice follow is off until you turn it on, and nothing is recognised while it is off.

Photos

If you choose to save a finished video to Photos, Onscript asks for permission to add it. Onscript never reads your photo library.

Purchases

Onscript Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple. Apple tells the app whether the purchase exists. We never see your payment details, your Apple Account or your name.

Children

Onscript is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Your Rights

Because no personal data is collected or transmitted, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or erase. Everything the app holds is on your device and under your control.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear at this address with a new date.
