Onscript is a teleprompter that records you one paragraph at a time. Your script sits in a narrow band at the very top of the screen, directly under the front lens, so your eyes stay on the person watching instead of drifting to the middle of the phone. Every paragraph of the script is a beat. You record a beat, it appears in the strip along the bottom, and you move on. Get one wrong and you do not start the video again from the top: you tap that beat, say it once more, and both takes sit side by side until you pick the one you want. When the beats are done you press Cut video, and Onscript measures the silence at each end of every kept take from that take own audio, trims it so the joins land on speech, and writes the takes into one finished video on your device. The prompter itself is a proper one: three lines at a time in a band you can move, resize and restyle, steady auto scroll at any pace from 80 to 260 words per minute, a countdown, a rehearse mode, front or back camera, portrait or landscape, and a mirror mode for a teleprompter glass rig that flips the script on screen while the recording stays the right way round. Voice follow scrolls the script at the pace you are actually speaking, using speech recognition that runs on the device, and on a device or a language where that cannot happen without a network the feature is hidden rather than sent away. There is no account, no sign in, no upload and no server: your scripts, your takes and your finished videos are files in the app, and the app shows you how much space each script is using with a button to reclaim it.
