About
Paneglow is a calm triple tile puzzle in which every tile is a translucent stained-glass pane lying in layers on a light table. Tap any pane that nothing covers and it slides into a leaded tray of seven slots; three panes with the same motif shatter out of it. Because the glass is see-through, the motif of the pane directly underneath glows softly through the pane above, so the guessing that tile matching games usually rely on becomes planning: you can read what a move will uncover before you make it. Clear a board and the stained-glass window it belongs to blooms in behind the empty table, pane by pane, and stays in its gallery. There are six galleries of forty windows each, Garden, Harbour, Orchard, Night Sky, Workshop and Festival, each cut into its own window shape, and a Daily Window every day with a month of lit days that never punishes a gap. There are no timers, no lives and no energy. Every board carries three undos and one hint, the hint comes from a solver that knows a move from which the board can still be cleared, and every board in the game was proven solvable by that solver before it shipped. Eighteen motifs differ in outline as well as colour, tiles stay large on every iPhone, and VoiceOver reads the free panes and the tray as a move list. Garden and the Daily Window are open to everyone; one purchase opens the other five galleries and a daylight table.
