Summary

Pawnhop is a chess learning game for children in Apple's Kids Category (ages 6 to 8). It does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal data, from children or from anyone else. It works fully offline. There is no account, no sign in, no advertising, no analytics, no online play, no chat, and no server of ours anywhere in the app.

2. Data Collection

We do not collect any data.

Pawnhop has no account system, no sign in, no analytics, no advertising, no advertising identifiers, no crash reporting and no tracking of any kind. It contains no third party software development kits. The chess engine, the opponents, the puzzles and the coach all run on the device. We operate no servers, so there is nowhere for information about a child to be sent.

3. Children's privacy

Pawnhop is made for children aged about 6 to 8 and is designed to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the GDPR and Apple's Kids Category rules. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app has no way to do so: a child never types a name, never records their voice, never takes a photo and never communicates with anyone. A player is identified only by the buddy picture chosen on the device.

4. What the app stores on the device

For each player on the device (up to four): the buddy picture they chose, the stars earned on each puzzle, how many games were played, won and drawn against each opponent, and a game in progress so it can be continued. Plus three settings: sound effects, music and vibration. All of it is stored locally in the app's own storage on the iPhone and is used only to show progress, open the next levels and continue a game. It is included in your own encrypted device backups if you use them. We never receive a copy.

5. Purchases

Pawnhop is free to download and offers one optional in-app purchase, All Chapters. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see payment details, the Apple Account or a name. The purchase screen can only be reached through the grown-ups check.

6. Links and the grown-ups check

The app contains one link out of the app: to this privacy policy, inside the grown-ups corner. The grown-ups corner and the purchase screen are protected by a check designed for adults (a multiplication written in words, answered in digits), so a child cannot reach them by chance. There are no other links, no social features, no chat, no online play and no advertising.

7. Deleting data

A player can be removed in the grown-ups corner. Deleting the app removes all of its data. Since nothing was ever sent to us, there is nothing to delete on our side.

8. Your rights

Because we hold no data about you or your child, there is nothing to access, correct, export or erase. If you have a question about this policy, email ofolabs@gmail.com and we will answer.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new effective date. Since the app collects nothing, any change will be a clarification rather than a new use of data.
