Please read these Terms of Use before using Pawnhop. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. If the app is used by a child, a parent or guardian accepts these Terms on the child's behalf.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Pawnhop, developed and published by OFO Labs, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The App

Pawnhop is a chess learning game for children aged about 6 to 8 in Apple's Kids Category. Each chess piece is taught as its own small puzzle game on a partial board, then a child plays full games against opponents that run on the device, and a coach explains the key moment of a game. Everything runs on the device and no account is needed.

Purchases

Pawnhop is free to download. Pawn Wars and Rook Maze (30 puzzles), games against the first two opponents, hints, the grown-ups corner and up to four players are included without any purchase.

All Chapters is a single optional in-app purchase. It adds the Knight, Bishop, Queen and King chapters (60 puzzles), the six stronger opponents and the coach. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and it is available to your family through Family Sharing. Purchases are processed by Apple under the App Store's terms, and refunds are handled by Apple. The purchase screen and the restore button are behind a grown-ups check.

Learning, not a rating

Pawnhop teaches the rules of chess and simple tactics. Its stars, chapters and game results describe how a child played on this device; they are not a chess rating, a school assessment or a certification.

Intellectual Property

The app, its pieces, characters, artwork, puzzles, sounds and code are owned by OFO Labs and protected by copyright. You may not copy, reverse engineer or redistribute the app or its assets. The rules of chess belong to everyone.

Disclaimer

Pawnhop is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. OFO Labs does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error free.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OFO Labs is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of the app, including the loss of progress. Progress is stored only on the device and is removed when the app is deleted.

Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated. The current version is always the one published on this page.
