Please read these Terms of Use before using Phonicle. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If a child uses the app, the parent or guardian who obtained it accepts these terms on the child's behalf.

The App

Phonicle is an early reading app. It teaches English reading with systematic synthetic phonics: letter sounds are introduced in a fixed order, and children read words made only of sounds already taught by sliding letter tiles together. It runs entirely on your device.

What We Promise About the Course

Every word in Phonicle is decodable from the letter sounds taught before it, and every read-along sentence uses only those words plus a small set of common words that are taught whole. This is checked automatically every time the app is built. If you find a word that uses a sound the app has not yet taught, that is a defect and we want to hear about it: email ofolabs@gmail.com with the unit and the word.

Phonicle is a learning tool for use alongside reading with an adult. It is not a medical, diagnostic or special education assessment, and the grown-ups report describes how a child used the app, not a clinical measure of reading ability.

Purchase

Phonicle is sold as a single paid download through the App Store. There are no in-app purchases and no subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies.

License

OFO Labs grants you a personal, non-transferable license to use Phonicle on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, including Family Sharing. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or reverse engineer the app.

Privacy

Disclaimer

The app is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, OFO Labs makes no warranties about the app beyond those stated here and is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from its use.

Apple

These terms are between you and OFO Labs, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
