Summary

Shuntyard does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal data. The app contains no networking code of its own. It works fully offline, including in aeroplane mode.

2. Data Collection

We do not collect any data.

Shuntyard has no account system, no sign in, no analytics, no advertising, no advertising identifiers, no crash reporting and no tracking of any kind. We operate no servers. There is nowhere for information to be sent, even if we wanted it.

3. The yards need no server

All four hundred yards are built into the app. The Daily Yard is computed on your own device from the calendar date, so two phones on the same day produce the same yard by computing it, not by fetching it. Nothing is requested and nothing is sent.

4. What the app stores on your device

Which yards you have cleared, in how many moves, which plate you earned, your Daily Yard streak and whether you own the Full Yard purchase are stored locally on your iPhone. This information is included in your own encrypted iPhone backups if you have backups enabled. Those backups are between you and Apple. We never receive a copy.

5. iCloud key-value storage

If you are signed in to iCloud, Shuntyard mirrors that same small progress record into your own iCloud key-value storage, so a new iPhone finds your plates. This is Apple's storage inside your own Apple Account. We have no access to it, cannot read it, and receive no notification that it exists. Turning iCloud Drive off for Shuntyard stops the mirroring and changes nothing else about the game.

6. Game Center

Game Center is optional and the whole game works without it. If you choose to sign in, Apple's Game Center handles your identity, your nickname and the leaderboard entirely. Shuntyard sends one number, your total count of gold plates, to Apple's leaderboard service. We never see your Game Center identity and we store nothing about it. Declining Game Center removes nothing from the game.

7. Purchases

Full Yard is a single purchase handled entirely by Apple's In-App Purchase system. We never see your payment details, your Apple Account, or your name. The app asks StoreKit whether this Apple Account owns the purchase and stores nothing about you beyond that answer.

8. Children

Shuntyard is suitable for all ages and is rated 4+. It contains no user-generated content, no chat, no social features, no advertising, and no links out other than this policy and our terms. Because the app collects nothing and transmits nothing, no information about any player is ever received by us or by anyone else.

9. Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes all of its data from the device. To remove the iCloud copy as well, turn iCloud Drive off for Shuntyard before deleting, or clear the app's iCloud data from your iPhone's settings. Since nothing was ever sent to us, there is nothing for us to delete on our side and nothing for you to request.

10. Third parties

Shuntyard contains no third party SDKs of any kind: no analytics, no advertising network, no attribution, no crash reporting. The only external systems it touches are Apple's own StoreKit, Game Center and iCloud key-value storage, each of them under your Apple Account and Apple's privacy policy.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date. Since the app collects nothing, any change will be a clarification rather than a new collection of data.
