About
Most conjugation apps hand you a table. Stemwise hands you the reasoning. Every form in the app is built by its own engine, which applies the regular endings, then the stem change, then the spelling rule, and then tells you which of those it used. Tap pidio and you are told it is an -ir stem changer weakening in the third person. Tap busque and you are told the c became qu so the hard sound survives in front of an e. Tap tengamos and you are told the whole subjunctive is built from the yo form, which is why the g is there. Nothing is looked up in a stored table, so the explanation is the same whether the verb is regular or one of the ones that break every rule. Every form is printed with the stem in one colour and the ending in another, across all sixteen tenses and moods, so the part that changes is the part you can see. Practice works the same way: Stemwise groups your mistakes by grammar rule rather than by verb, because someone who keeps missing spelling changes needs different practice from someone who keeps missing irregulars. There is no account, no server, no advertising and no tracking, and the app works with no connection at all.
