Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Stemwise, developed and published by OFO Labs, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The App

Stemwise conjugates Spanish verbs and explains how each form was built. Every form is derived on your device by the app's own engine from the rules of Spanish morphology, and the rules it applied are shown alongside the result. It makes no network requests.

What We Promise About the Grammar

We think this belongs in the terms rather than only in the marketing.

The forms Stemwise produces come from the standard rules of Spanish verb morphology: the regular endings, the stem changes, the spelling changes and a curated table of the irregular forms that no rule predicts. The engine is checked in our test suite against full reference paradigms rather than spot checks, and every verb in the app is conjugated in every tense on every build.

Stemwise covers the six person paradigm used in Spain and in most teaching material. Version 1.0 does not show reflexive forms or the vos forms used in parts of Latin America.

Stemwise is a study aid. It is not a translator, and it is not a substitute for a teacher or for a full grammar. Language is used differently by region and in context, and a correctly conjugated form is not always the right form to use. Do not rely on Stemwise for professional translation, legal, medical or any other setting where being wrong carries a cost.

If you find a form you believe is wrong, please tell us. Correctness is the entire product.

Stemwise Pro

The present and preterite indicative are available to everyone, permanently and in full, for the 100 most common verbs, with the complete rule explanation on every form and unlimited practice.

Stemwise Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It adds all sixteen tenses and moods, all 318 verbs, and practice that targets the grammar rule you miss most often.

Purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's terms. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. If you delete and reinstall the app, or install it on another device using the same Apple Account, use the Restore option on the paywall to recover your purchase.

Your Content

Your practice history is stored on your device and belongs to you. We never receive it and cannot recover it for you if you delete the app.

Acceptable Use

Stemwise is for personal use. Do not attempt to reverse engineer, redistribute, or resell the app or its bundled verb list.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. The current version always appears on this page with the date it was last updated.
