Every sound in Hushloom is synthesized live on your iPhone, so it never loops, never clicks and never repeats. Most noise apps play a recording, and somewhere in that recording there is a join you eventually start to hear. Hushloom has no recordings at all. Press the glowing curve and slide your finger down: bright white noise melts into pink, then into a warm brown rumble, then deeper still, with no gap and no click. The curve on the screen is the real filter response of the noise you hear, drawn from the same numbers the audio engine runs, with snap points at white, pink and brown and handles that trim the lowest rumble and the brightest hiss. Beneath the noise you can lay up to four living layers, each generated from the physics of the thing itself: rain made of single drops, each with its own ring, over a soft wash; a box fan whose blades move the air; surf that swells, breaks and draws back at its own uneven pace; wind that gusts across the room; a stream bubbling over stones; and a fire with a low roar, crackles and pops. The sleep timer runs from fifteen minutes to eight hours or all night, fades out slowly over up to twenty minutes and reaches silence exactly on time. Bedside mode turns the screen true black with only a faint trace of the curve. It keeps playing with the screen locked, AirPods and the Lock Screen can play, pause and stop it, and it pauses when headphones come out instead of filling the room. Eight built in sounds, unlimited saved sounds and Siri actions complete it. Hushloom is bought once. There is no account, no advertising, no tracking and nothing further to buy, and it works with no connection at all.
